black lives matter
people of the abyss and beam me up music stand in solidarity with our black community in the fight to end systemic racism and police brutality. there would be no people of the abyss without the huge cultural and musical impact that black people have had on our society and throughout the world. these are human beings, they are our countrymen and they deserve to be treated as such. the contract has been broken, and we stand in solidarity with whatever response the black community deems appropriate.

I am very excited to announce that the debut album from People of the Abyss, A Fable Agreed Upon, will be released on Friday, October 6, 2017. This album has been in the works for a long time and it is very exciting to be coming up on release date. I cannot wait for you to hear it! I have not released an album for some time now. Between getting married, going back to school and getting my Masters in Education, and also being given the gift of a beautiful daughter, life has been busy and amazing and difficult and fun. This album has been through all of that with me, slowly growing and manifesting itself into something you will be able to hear very, very soon.
Recording A Fable Agreed Upon was amazing, tedious, energizing, exhausting, educational, frustrating, discouraging, and motivating all at the same time. I had the honor of recording it with one of my best friends in the entire world in Hans Twite. He brought an energy, creativity, and knowledge base to the table that breathed new life into the project. We recorded when we could, with either me heading up to Seattle for a random weekend or him coming down to Portland. The album slowly but surely came along, through new careers, job promotions, job layoffs, graduations, newborn babies, death in the family, vacations, staycations, almost getting struck by lightning... from the first recording session way back when, this album has seen significant changes in both our lives. It has been a journey and it is so exciting to be able to finally let everyone hear it! I am proud of this album and I hope that you enjoy it.
Peace,
T
